What Is 360° Liposuction?
360° liposuction is a circumferential body-contouring approach that treats the entire midsection in a single session, including the abdomen, waist, flanks, lower back, and sometimes the hips. - What Liposuction Actually Is (And What It Isn't) Liposuction is a body-contouring procedure that permanently removes stubborn pockets of fat using a thin cannula inserted through tiny incisions. It reshapes specific areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and chin, and gives the best results in people who are near their ideal weight and have good skin elasticity. precisely evaluate skin elasticity, adipose layer thickness, and muscular fascia before tailoring the operative vector.
- 2. Surgical Precision & Symmetry The difference between an average liposuction result and an excellent one lies in precision. Removing fat evenly, at the right depth and in the right amount is what creates a smooth, natural contour instead of dents, ridges, or uneven sides.
- 3. Core Muscle & Fascia Restoration Under the fat lies the abdominal wall, made of muscle and a strong connective layer called fascia. After pregnancy, major weight changes, or previous surgery, this layer can stretch or split (diastasis recti), leaving a bulge that no amount of fat removal can flatten.

Liposuction meaning:
"Lipo" means fat. "Suction" means to draw out. Liposuction is a surgical procedure where a thin tube called a cannula is inserted through tiny keyhole incisions and stubborn fat cells are sucked out of specific body areas. The medical term is suction-assisted lipectomy or liposculpture — because a good plastic surgeon doesn't just "remove" fat, he sculpts the body. Two patients with the same belly bulge will need very different approaches based on their muscle tone, skin elasticity, age, and gender.

Truth
If a clinic promises you "lose 20 kg in one liposuction sitting" — walk out. That is not surgery. That is marketing. The maximum safe fat removal in a single session is around 5 litres (about 4–5 kg of pure fat) per international safety guidelines, and even that is reserved for specific cases.
Candidacy is determined through an in-person physical evaluation, medical history review, and realistic goal setting.

Typically 2.5–3.5 litres in Indian patients per session. The maximum safe limit is around 5 litres (~5 kg of pure fat) in one sitting per international guidelines.
Can I lose weight with liposuction?
You may lose 1–4 kg, but liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure. It is shape correction. If your goal is weight loss, the right path is diet, exercise, and (in BMI > 35 cases) bariatric surgery.
Will I have visible scars?
Incisions are 3–4 mm — about the size of a peppercorn — and placed in hidden creases (groin, buttock fold, armpit, navel, behind the ear). Most fade to invisibility within a year.
How soon can I return to work?
Desk job: 5–7 days Field job / physical labour: 2–3 weeks Heavy gym / sports: 6 weeks
Will I need to wear a compression garment? For how long?
Yes — 24/7 for the first 2 weeks, then 12–16 hours/day for weeks 3–6. It's the single most important thing for a smooth result.
What is the difference between liposuction and liposculpture?
Liposuction removes fat. Liposculpture removes and reshapes — sometimes injecting some of the removed fat into other areas (face, breasts, hips) for proportion. At Pratap Hospital, almost all our cases are liposculpture in approach — we sculpt, we don't just suck.
Can liposuction help with gynaecomastia (man boobs)?
Yes — it's one of the core procedures we perform. We use PAL liposuction + glandular excision through a small areolar incision. Most patients return to office work in 5–7 days.
Is liposuction permanent? Will the fat come back?
The fat cells removed are gone permanently. If you gain significant weight, fat deposits in untreated areas. Maintaining a stable weight preserves your result for life.
Can liposuction be done under local anaesthesia?
For very small areas (chin, small arm pockets), yes — local + sedation is enough. For larger areas, general anaesthesia is safer and far more comfortable. Your anaesthetist and I will recommend what fits your case.
